THE PAST
1997-2007. An Era Not to be Forgotten.
Since 1997, the Santa Fe Teen Arts Center, Warehouse 21, (W21), has served thousands of youth (ages 12-21 including young adults) in the Performing, Media and Visual Arts. The former 3,500 sq ft warehouse on the Railyard provided innovative and cutting edge programs that were personally and socially relevant to Santa Fe's youth. W21 also supported youth employment and acted as a resource through community service programs and the presentation of innovative events with other organizations. Its credence was based on the spirit of creative W21er energy. Through the years, W21 has presented over 900 multidisciplinary events and conducted hundred’s of workshops involving over 45,000 people of all ages.

W21 was involved in the initial city Railyard planning process and was placed on the Railyard Master Plan in 2001. An eighty-year lease was signed in 2005 to ensure a long-term placement in the revitalized Arts & Cultural District of downtown Santa Fe.

What a year it was in 2007 for W21! W21’s lease was finally terminated in January to make way for Railyard development and demolition of W21’s warehouse occurred April 2007. The organization has since been under major organizational transition and relocation, has a temporary Silkscreen and Fashion Studio on Siler Road and presented over 40 Around Town Special Events for local youth at over eleven venues.
